MIREIA PLAYÀ COMES TO AN END
This project was born from the dream to change the world of fashion, creating vegan designs, with a sustainable spirit, and manufactured 100% in Spain.
I think I can say that we have done our bit and that we have helped many people to perceive veganism and sustainability in a different way. We have given rise to people who would never have considered using non-leather shoes, to see our vegan shoes not only as a comfortable and high-quality alternative but also with a curated design.
We have made many achievements and we are proud of them, but we have also suffered the limitations and constraints of a small business or entrepreneur who, to maintain the independence and spirit of their project, depends on their own resources; their savings. The pandemic, the increase in the prices of raw materials, and finally the impossibility of continuing to manufacture locally, have made our project unfeasible.
It has been a real pleasure to be able to create shoes that meet my values, to fight for a vegan and more sustainable fashion world, and to share this dream with you these past 7 years. Now begins a new chapter of my life and although closing Mireia Playà makes me sad, I am looking forward to - with less pressure - experience the new challenges that the future holds for me.
I want to thank all those people who have been part of the Mireia Playà team. Thank you Josep, Gemma, Cristina, Gisela, Txell, Andrea, Irati, Lara, Mapi, Mario, Susana, Lisset, Carla, Laura, Estefanía... for joining me, for believing in this project, for bringing your knowledge and enthusiasm to something so beautiful, and for being part of my family for 7 years.
And finally, I want to thank all of you, our community, and each of the people who throughout our history have decided to follow us and support us faithfully. Without you, this would not have been possible and I will be eternally grateful.
